We are also looking at Pottery Barn, but I know everything there is so pricy. My husband thinks PB would have much better quality, and maybe it is better, but worth the extra money?? My in laws got us our crib and dresser the other week at pottery barn. She was adamant to get it from there due to quality. Over Labor Day weekend they had an amazing sale. 30-40% off and it made the furniture a normal price. Keep your eyes out for their sales which happen pretty often. Totally worth it. LOVEEEE baby Appleseed brand of cribs and dressers got one for my daughter and now got one for the new baby too! They are beautiful but a little bigger if you have the room for them! Dark wood is my daughters bed now and dresser and grey is for the boy coming! They are all 4in1!
I love all my PB furniture. I got another PB crib for this baby. They really do stand the test of time and are made of much nicer materials than some other brands. If you really want longevity, I'd go with PB or Restoration Hardware Baby, Land of Nod, etc.
I sell BBBaby furniture. The quality depends on the actual manufacturer of the set itself, not the company who sells it. We sell very good quality cribs and some mediocre as well. Personally I think Baby Appleseed, Bassett, and Kingsley are very nice.
Yes! There are certain brand exclusions (Babyletto, Ben & Franklin, etc) but the specific brands I mentioned are not excluded. Many stores do not have the space to store furniture so be prepared to wait a few weeks to receive your pieces, especially if you chose a different finish that isn't shown in store. Happy shopping!
Just ordered Baby Appleseed furniture set and my BBB Rep was so great to work with. She let me use coupons for everything - though be prepared you have to have a new coupon or code for each item to get the 20% off each thing. I had a set picked out at Pottery Barn and it was going to be more than double the price. I read really good reviews about Baby Appleseed and chose the cheaper set in the end.
Here's what you should know. Each chain (BBB, Babies R Us, other stores) carries an "exclusive" line of furniture named uniquely but in fact they are made by the same manufacturer. The set I got from BBB is called something else at Babies R Us and something else online.
There is a HUGE quality difference in the different brands. I would go there and test the drawers, sturdiness, etc. We bought an entire set (using 20% off coupons) at BBB for my son 2 years ago and it has held up AMAZING. So good, I will be purchasing the same exact set for this baby in a different color. We have the Brunswick Collection by Munire and it is now, 2 years later called something else "Munire Kingsley Brunswick". It's almost identical to the Medford set at Babies r us.
